About the Event

Free event celebrating Juneteenth.  Highlights include a presentation featuring Lou Beatty, Jr., a film and TV actor with Powhatan connections who will share his stage presentation, "A Reason for Junteenth" the story of slavery, Jim Crow and the accomplishments of African Americans since we were freed.  Activities for everyone, every age!  Food vendors, crafts, kid zone, displays, and an opportunity to tour the Powhatna African American Cultural Arts Museum.
