Though rained out on Oct. 29, spirited golfers rescheduled tee times and participated in Habitat for Humanity-Powhatan’s Home FORE Halloween golf event at Independence Golf on sunny Oct. 30 and Oct. 31. Our leaderboard sponsor was Envestnet MoneyGuide.
Winners of the adult division were C&F Mortgage’s Danny Murphy and his partner, Nick Routis. They each won a two-day getaway to the Gaylord National. Runner-ups were Envestnet’s Mike Boyd and Landon Katz, who will receive a round for two at Independence Golf’s 18-hole course. Prizes were sponsored by the Powhatan Rotary
Winners of the adult-youth division were Nathan Hodge and his 8-year-old son, Sajen. Their prizes include a $25 gift certificate to Bruster’s Real Ice Cream and a round for two at Stonehenge Country Club. Winner of the chip-it-into-the-witch’s cauldron contest was Ben Edgell of Envestnet MoneyGuide. He won a round for two at Independence Golf’s 18-hole course. Winner of the Halloween costume contest was Matthew Chasey of Envestnet MoneyGuide who came as Forrest Gump. He too receives a $25 gift certificate to Bruster’s Real Ice Cream.
